Brown Eyed Girl is a trio comprised of: Amy Ford Jeff Montgomery & John Armijo. |
John and Jeff met in Las Cruces, New Mexico in 1992 and formed a duo called, J.J. Junction. The twosomes repertoire included oldies, classic rock and instrumentals. Their style ranged from unplugged acoustic to fully programed backgrounds which they performed at private parties and clubs. |
| Both artists had impressive solo acts as well. |
| John began playing guitar at age eight, learning Folk songs and experimenting on his own with Top 40 Radio during the 60s and 70s. John's love of music knew no boundaries which allowed him to develop a vast and versatile repertoire. His influences include Neil Young and Bob Marley which come through in his Rhythm Guitar playing. |
| John has done a lot of a lot of work as a Performer, an MC and a Sound Technician including many jingles and voice overs for Radio and TV. While in Europe, during his tour in the Armed Forces, John played the Border Folk Festival, the Frankfurt-American Volkfest, and the Irish pub in Frankfurt, Germany. In Hawaii, John got into the Island sound and gigged at many clubs. |
| John studied and performed Middle Eastern and African Rhythms with Master African Drummer Karuna Warren, in El Paso, Texas where he performed at the Sojourns Fall Festival. |
| Jeff grew up on Elvis Presley, Chuck Berry, Duane Eddy and Chet Atkins. He began playing guitar at age eight and turned pro at sixteen. During the early years of his career he was influenced by Eric Clapton, Johnny Winter, Jeff Beck, Jimi Hendrix and Al DiMeola. His playing developed into a unique blend as he experimented with many musical styles. |
| Jeff and John got together with Amy to form Brown Eyed Girl. Their act embraces many musical styles including Rock, Reggae, Folk, Jazz and Groove all with a unique Beatnik Sound. |
| Amy is a performer, teacher, composer, visual artist and creator of many types of Expressive Arts Happenings. |
| She has been teaching Hand Drumming for over a decade and has been writing songs since the early 70s. Her influences in addition to her rich archive of rhythmic grooves are Rock, Reggae, Folk, Jazz and World Beat. |
| She has been performing at 5 Star Resorts and teaching in Phoenix, Arizona since 1997. |
| Before moving to Phoenix, she had been gigging and teaching in Pennsylvania, New York, Massachusetts, New Jersey and Florida with many bands. Wherever she goes you'll find Amy laying tracks at recording studios and conducting educational workshops. |
